Facing the lack of IT professionals in France, Xavier Niel, a French telecom tycoon, decided to created 42 to address this gap still not filled by public education. Located in Paris, with no degree requirement to apply, no fees, 42 aims to train 18+ years old students as IT professionals, using the Peer-Learning model. No teacher, no lecture, students solve software development challenges in a collaborative and try-and-fail approach. In a gamified environment, everyone progress at his own pace and on his own path. With outstanding feedbacks from companies, all 42 alumni successfully launch a sustainable career in a fast evolving labor market.
